Hey! I am excited to announce that I have decided to be a guest participant in the ORC – One Room Challenge. Are you familiar with the ORC? Neither was I until about a week ago. I love the premise of the ORC. You choose one room in your home that needs some updating. Each Thursday you post your progress on the ORC and you have 6 weeks to complete your project. I can’t wait!!
I plan to update my Musty Mudroom. This room has been neglected for a while. It is one of the last rooms in our home that still has the original paint on the walls. We definitely use this space. Typically it is filled with coats, backpacks, shoes, and…spiders! Yikes! I am somewhat embarrassed about the amount of cobwebs hanging in the corners.
It is a galley mudroom with two doors on either end. One leads outside and the other leads to a hallway in our main living area. There is plenty of bead board and boring brown tile.
- Remove all the cobwebs
- Add additional shelving above the built-in
- Add architectural to create a more updated look
- Paint walls and built-in
- Change lighting
- Paint tile
- Add some funky fun decor to the walls
Honestly, I am still working out the exact details. I am more of a “create as you go” kind of gal. No inspiration boards on this blog! Be sure to follow along every Thursday for updates and on Instagram for some behind the scenes.
